The Disha Patani house firing case has become one of the most high-profile crime stories of 2025. In the early hours of September 12, gunmen opened fire at Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s Bareilly home, where her parents and sister live. The incident not only terrified the family but also triggered a large-scale investigation involving the Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara gang, leading to a deadly STF encounter just days later.
Disha Patani House Firing Case in Bareilly
The shooting took place at approximately 3:30 a.m. in the Civil Lines area of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, while two gunmen on a motorcycle fired 8-12 rounds at the home of Disha Patani. A bullet struck the balcony and walls of the home. Disha Patani was in Mumbai, but her father Jagdish Patani, her mother, and her sister Khushboo Patani were at home.
Reports indicated that two 9mm pistols were used in the shooting. Jagdish Patani narrowly escaped injury by hiding behind a pillar when the bullets were flying. While no family members were injured, the shooting at the home created fear and concern for the safety of celebrity families living in smaller cities of Bareilly and the surrounding region.
Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara Gang Claim Responsibility
Shortly after the attack, notorious gangster Goldy Brar, along with Rohit Godara, claimed responsibility for the Disha Patani house firing case. According to their message, the firing was retaliation against alleged remarks by Khushboo Patani about spiritual leaders Sant Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj.
The involvement of international gangster networks has elevated the case from a local crime, to something larger. Goldy Brar, operating outside of the country, has been connected to multiple cases of extortion and violence in India. The Rohit Godara gang, based in Haryana and western UP, has gained notoriety for carrying out contract killings and other targeted attacks.
UP STF Encounter and Investigation Progress
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), along with Delhi and Haryana police units, launched an immediate investigation. CCTV footage and ground intelligence pointed to gang members who fled toward Ghaziabad.
From September 17-18, the police received a huge breakthrough; two accused, Ravindra alias Kallu from Rohtak and Arun from Sonipat, were killed in an encounter with police at Tronica City, Ghaziabad. This encounter also resulted in injuries to four police personnel. The authorities recovered the weapons used in the incident as well as the motorcycle used to flee the Bareilly house. The encounter was praised as a major step towards addressing gangsterism.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath called Jagdish Patani to reassure that appropriate security measures would be put in place and told Patani to provide his family with extra security around the Bareilly house. The Uttar Pradesh state government emphatically stated that it had a zero-tolerance policy regarding organized crime, and that they were getting very serious about any type of threats to public safety, including those by gangs against celebrity families.
Bollywood Reaction and Ongoing Legal Action
The attack on Disha Patani’s house shocked Bollywood and her global fan base. Many stars expressed solidarity, highlighting the growing menace of gangster threats against high-profile figures. Though Disha has not yet released a detailed statement, sources close to her say she is “extremely disturbed” but relieved that her family escaped unhurt.
Police continue to track other gang members linked to the firing. Legal experts suggest the case may invoke charges under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) and the Gangster Act. With two shooters already neutralized, investigators are focusing on dismantling the broader network of the Goldy Brar–Rohit Godara gang.
The Disha Patani house firing case has not only exposed the reach of organized crime but also forced law enforcement to tighten security for public figures. As the investigation unfolds, it remains a chilling reminder of how celebrity families can become soft targets in gangster rivalries.
