The investigation into the 10 November Red Fort car blast has gained clarity after AIIMS confirmed through DNA profiling that the remains inside the Hyundai i20 belonged to Dr. Umar Un Nabi. The confirmation has allowed agencies to firmly identify the primary operative behind the explosion that killed 13 people near Red Fort Metro Gate 1. A severed hand found nearly 300 metres away highlighted the impact of the blast and helped investigators map the point of ignition.
Faridabad Detention Strengthens Probe
Faridabad Police have detained a man linked to the red Ford EcoSport that investigators believe was the second vehicle prepared by the module. The SUV, traced to a relative of Umar, has been sent for detailed forensic testing to determine whether it contains explosive residue or structural alterations similar to those identified in the i20. Officials say the detention has opened a significant investigative path, especially as the EcoSport appears in movement logs that coincide with the days leading up to the blast.

Raids in Jammu and Kashmir have led to the detention of ten persons from Srinagar and Pulwama for questioning. Officials say some names and numbers found in the diaries match individuals now in custody.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad has detained a Kanpur-based cardiologist for suspected links to arrested doctor Dr. Shaheen, further widening the circle of individuals under scrutiny.
